Getting Snow in your Face

(Gospel) To imitate Christ to the full is no piece of cake.

"For which of my good works do you wish to stone me?" Jesus never, ever did anything that was not a good work.

Success is one of our ongoing desires. We finish the project - we want a raise in pay. We shovel the snow - we want the 10 bucks. We practice 30 minutes a day - we want the piano piece to sound beautiful. We measure the flour and baking powder to perfection - we want the cake to taste perfect.

Even in our human relations we think the same way. We bring the flowers - we want to be loved. We patiently serve - we want to be thanked.

And then we have to stop and think: "But Jesus didn't work like that!"

Jesus got killed for doing good works, remember?
