(Gospel) Yes, Jesus did respect the priests.
Jesus' words AFTER he already healed the leper:
See that you tell no one anything, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing what Moses prescribed; that will be proof for them.
This is required of the law - and Jesus doesn't do away with the law; despite his miracle.
Not unlike confession. Jesus CAN heal you directly, but he also set up his Church for a reason, and among those reason are the sacraments. Obedience to God is most often shown in obedience to those HE has set up to represent him.
